Bathroom Vanities serve as the centerpiece of your bathroom, so it is important to evaluate and choose quality bathroom vanities when remodeling your bathroom. Here is a quick checklist before you go shopping for your bathroom vanity. a. Vanity height - vanities these days are a few inch taller and can impact the mirror usage and if you have older people at home, consider height carefully.
b. In line with the age of your home - you do not want to look like applying lipstick for a pig
c. Brightness of your bathroom - if your bathroom is too bright, consider a smaller vanity to show-off larger space.
d. Countertop decoration space and shelf space
e. Match existing floor and walls - even better if you are remodeling completely
f. Vanity lights - highly related to the design of the mirror I suggest, do not spend a lot of money, do spend a lot of time browsing on the internet to find the 'seed' design and a backup seed design. For example, I picked mahogany estate design (which is a wood work with lots of carvings on the outside) as my seed idea. The backup seed idea is a plain dark wood vanity with 'cool' handles on them.
Once you like a particular design, visit a local store or browse the internet and look for matching mirror and lights. In my case where I chose carvings, I needed the vanity mirror to match the same color and 'carvings' on them. I also had to make sure it is in line with my 40 year old home - I did not want to apply lipstick to a pig. I was lucky to find those at local home depot (yep, I was very lucky). My only nag at this point of time is : My counter space if small however, there is enough shelf space.
